Conditions and organisation instructions

Conditions of the competition:

  1. The competition takes place from 24th to 26th June 2021 and has one round, B3 category has two rounds.

  2. It was announced in two elementary groups: A (five categories) and B (three categories). To the A group belong pupils of private lessons and art schools, to the B group belong students of musical grammar schools, consetvatories and akademies.

  3. An age of older participant on 30th Seprember 2020 is mandatory for categorisation.

  4. It is possible to perform only original compositions for four hands or two pianos or authorised versions of these compositions at the competition. The jury has right to request a sheet music of less-known pieces before start of a competition round.

  5. Younger categories can choose compositions from higher cetegories. Younger contestants can compete in a higher category.

  6. Playing from memory is not obligatory. A page turner is not allowed. The position of pianos facing each other cannot be changed.

  7. The jury reserves right to stop performance due to overstepping time limit

  8. The international jury decides awarding prizes, special prizes (special prices for performance of V. Lejsek composition, special price for performance of a piece from classicism, prize for the best czech duo) and honorable mensions. The decision of the jury is final.

  9. Winners announcement ceremony and awarding will take place at the end of every contest day.

Categories A4, A5, B1, B2 a B3 are required to integrate at least one piece for two pianos into repertoire.

Organisation instructions:
​

  • Preliminary applications (without repertoire and length of pieces, only teacher's contact and number of duos in certain categories is sufficient) send please to e-mail address iclbrnosoutez@gmail.com until 20th April 2021. We will send you then sheet music of compulsory pieces based on the information we have received. Deadline for sending of completely filled-in forms is on 31st May 2021.

  • Application fee for categories A1-A3 is 1000 Kč for a czech piano duo / 50 € for a foreign piano duo. Fee for categories A4-A5 and B1-B3 is 1500 Kč for a czech piano duo / 75 € for a foreign piano duo.

  • You can pay application fee either directly at place on the day of the competition or send it in advance to bank account CZ97 2200 0000 0022 0081 6847. Please attach a note with the name of school or piano duo to the payment.

  • It is in the interest of contestants to arrange visa for the Czech republic. The host ICL will provide every cooperation required for gaining of visa. 

  • The host reserves all audio and video recordings made during the competition for its own use.
